It is important to understand that the legal paternity DNA test is different to a standard home paternity test which is only done for ‘peace of mind’ (purely done for informative reasons). For a legal DNA test to be admissible by the court, it must be carried out under the proper chain of custody. It means that the sample collection for the DNA test must be carried out in front of the judge or in presence of a court-appointed representative.`
Here is a step by step procedure on how to book a Legal DNA test at Smart DNA.
You will be booked for an appointment at our office where the samples will be collected from the parties concerned.
We will collect cheek (buccal) swabs from all the parties to be tested.
Once your samples have been properly collected, we will send them to our award winning lab in the UK where they are tested and reviewed twice to ensure quality.
The results are provided within 5 to 7 working days after the collection of your samples.

At Smart DNA, we also offer Home Paternity DNA test using samples other samples like hairs, bloodstains, fingernails, clothes e.t.c. You can use this method when it’s impossible for you to provide a saliva (oral swab) sample.
